Courtney Love has visual art work on display at Fred Torres Collaborations in New York City. The show is called “And She’s Not Even Pretty” and runs through June 15th. According to Gothamist, this medium “feels more vulnerable, it’s not like music where you mix it and put it out there and go hide.” Don’t miss your chance to see crazy up close and personal!
Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf Der Maur played the classic Hole song “Miss World” at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, this past Saturday. Fast-forward to the 4:00 mark to skip the guitar-tuning and strap-finding and Auf Der Maur rambling. Surprisingly, it sounded pretty good, except for the annoying guy who sang along loudly.
After the song, Courtney hugged everyone in the band, and she and Eric embraced for a good 10 seconds (above). They also covered Wipers’ “Over the Edge.”
My first serious editorial job was with Venus Zine, so it warmed my heart to learn that one of my teen idols actually read and liked the magazine. Apparently, she wrote the editors at Jezebel a couple emails that mention “venuszine” (exactly the way it’s spelled in the logo, which is funny since Courtney Love is a notoriously bad speller), even implying that she wished Jezebel would be more like Venus. The rest of the blog post I couldn’t care less about, but I guess it has something to do with feminism? Oh, and Courtney Love is now blogging for xoJane.
